Beagle puppies play outdoors with confidence

I love that now days, the growth is noticeable even day to day. things that made them nervous yesterday, now have a positive association and their curiosity takes over.

We are using as much of the last of the Summer days as possible and hoping fall will wait just a little longer before coming out too much and bringing the cold days and rainfall.

My older dogs are so curious about the little ones but wont get to meet them til next week, just to keep them all safe.

Enjoy them playing outside for now 🙂

All Hound Club of Bellingham Show

Hound shows are so much fun to attend – the comradery is so fun between the sight and scent hounds. It’s good fun with good friends and we all cheer each other on which is so nice.

This is how the weekend went for the Kazuri dogs – owned/co-owned.

Callie (GCHB Kazuri’s Everything’s Sugar N Spice FDC DCAT) won BOV/BOVOH in 13s both days. Callie is bred by Sarah Sweetman, MIke & Karen Kurtzner and is owned by Sarah Sweetman

Gypsy (Joyful Noise N Kazuri Just Lace and Paper Flowers) went WB both days for 2 more points towards her CH title. Gyp won “best puppy” in 13s on Saturday. Gypsy was bred by Dolly Stearns and Sarah Sweetman is owned by myself (Sarah Sweetman)

Whimsy (Joyful Noise N Kazuri Just Glitter In The Wind) went WB both days for 1 more point towards her CH title. Whim won best Puppy in 15s and Best BBE in 15s. Whim was bred by Dolly Stearns and Sarah Sweetman is owned by myself (Dolly Stearns and Ruthie Tesky)

Though not bred by Kazuri, both of Gracie’s parents are Kazuri dogs. So she is still family. 🙂 She was bred by Sarah Smith-Falkner and is owned by Malia Throop & Sarah Smith-Falkner

Savannah (GCH CH Kazuri’s Gonna Be Peachy FDC) got select both days. On top of that Savannah got her BCAT title last weekend at the Iliana Schipperke Club. Vannah was was bred by Sarah Sweetman is owned by Malia Throop and Sarah Sweetman

Maxim (GCH Kazuri’s Rocking The Naughty List at Roylcrest) won select dog in a huge line up of lovely specials on Saturday putting him just a couple of points shy of his GCH Bronze title. Maxim is bred by Sarah Sweetman, Mike & Karen Kurtzner and is owned by Lorna & Sam Boydston and Sarah Sweetman

New cavalier puppies

There is nothing I love more than to celebrate with others and build community as we love and try to do right by these beautiful dogs we are entrusted with.

I had the honor of placing and co-owning Stella (CH Kazuri’s Diamond In The Sky) with Emma and Amie Adams who have been showing cavaliers longer than I have but never leapt into the breeding side of things. When they mentioned they wanted to start breeding, I was honored to work with them and it has been a pleasure to co-breed a litter and walk them through all the parts from breeding to whelping to dew claws and more.

They are doing a phenomenal job and I am so proud of them. The sire is their lovely boy Granger (GCH BeckWith If the Boot Fits).

If you want to follow the progress of these little poppets, head over to Clairety Cavaliers ❤

Callie wins BOV/BOSS at the Midwest Regional Beagle Specialty

I travelled to Amana Iowa to attend “Beaglefest” early Sept and had so much fun meeting fanciers i have “met” online but actually getting to sit and chat with them in person. It was fun to be in the ring with so many amazing dogs and people. There was so much comradery and laughter – everything community and competition should be. If anyone is thinking about going, I would say “do it”.

My little 13 inch beagle Callie (GCHB Kazuri’s Everything’s Sugar N Spice DCAT FDC) won Best of Variety in 13s under respected breeder judge Dr Oleg N Voloshin Ph.D. She went on to win BOSS to the lovely Victor who won 15s. I was thrilled to be in the ring with Victor and be awarded beside him.

Callie also won Select B under Dr. Camille McArdle D.V.M at the Amana Hound Show.

This little spice girl is my heart and soul and she’s not always easy to show, but always gives it her all. She also ran 6 Fast cat runs completing her DCAT and getting many points towards her FCAT.

Callie is owner/breeder shown and I am so thankful to Liz for letting me use Arthur for my Rosie girl. (CH Bill T’s August Rush to Alpenglow x CH Kazuri’s Everything’s Coming up Roses)

Murphy gets more group placements with his new handler Randy

We are so excited about this new 13 inch beagle team with Murphy (GCH Kazuri’s Everything’s Gonna Be Alright) and Randy – this weekend in Roseberg OR they got a Hound group 1, Group 2 and Group 4. Randy got the go ahead to take the reins on August 1st, so we are excited to see what they can achieve together.

Thank you to judges Mrs Barbara Heal, Mr Raymond E Yurick and Ms. Kimberly Anne Meredith for finding our little beagle boy this weekend!

Murphy was bred by Sarah Sweetman, Mike and Karen Kurtzner and is owned by Sarah Smith-Falkner and Sarah Sweetman.

Muprhy is already a RBIS, multi group winning and placing dog, and in the top 10 for 13 inch beagles with very limited showing for 2024.

Charity and Daisy’s beagle puppies turn 4 weeks old

The beagle puppies are 4 weeks old and using their potty boxes regularly, and eating 3 meals of mush a day. Mommas Daisy and Charity have earned a well deserved break and are nursing as needed a couple of times a day. I think they really enjoy the space as well as being able to care for their babies when they want to.

The puppies are up on their feet and getting stronger every day. I love their little wobbly play sequences and little growls and howls – it’s only a matter of time before we hear a baby bark 🙂

Enjoy their latest photos 🙂

Nick gets his BCAT title

We are so excited that Nick (GCHP Kazuri’s All I Want For CHristmas TKN ATT GCG) added a new title to the end of his name with a BCAT in Amana Iowa last weekend.

It was humid, and Nick arrived to the course with no prior experience as to what he was supposed to do, but quickly got what the game was. By the end of the weekend and 6 runs, he had completed his BCAT and we are hoping to continue and get him more fun titles. Good job Nick

Amana Iowa Dog Show “Beaglefest”

Every year there is a set of beagle and all breed shows held in Amana Iowa – it is dubbed “beaglefest” and I just knew I had to go. My friends Dolly and Malia joined me and of course I got to spend time with my beloved friends Mike and Karen Kurtzner.

It did not disappoint – I got to meet people that I “know” online and chat to them in person. I got to see and exhibit with beautiful dogs and showed my girl Callie and her 1/2 sister DeeJay (who currently lives with Mike and Karen).

I had so very much fun except for being totally allergic to something in the region, meaning my nose was always running and eyes puffy – but I didnt even mind as I had so much fun.

We even did Fastcat for Nick, Savannah, Callie and Gracie.

See you all next year!!! Same time, same place!! <3

Daisy & Charity’s beagle puppies are 3 weeks old

The little growls have begun – oh how i love this stage where they start to assert that they have a little personality and opinions. They are like little blobs on tiny legs and each day they get a little stronger as they navigate around their pens.

I am deeply in love with these beagle babies and can’t wait to see which one/s are staying here at Kazuri.

If you think they look similar – there is nothing wrong with your eyes – Charity’s brother is the sire of Daisy’s litter and Daisy’s brother is the sire of Charity’s litter. 🙂 They are literally about as close to siblings as you can get without actually being siblings.

Charity and Daisy’s beagle puppies are 2 weeks old and have their eyes open

Charity and Daisy are wonderful mommas and the babies continue to be fat and content. Their eyes have opened and so they are starting to get up on their feet and explore their puppy pens. The fun will start to continue this week with first foods.
