Laila, Arrow’s daughter is here for a quick visit while her puppy parents are on vacation. we love having pups come to stay – it is so neat to see them grow up. They just become part of the pack while they are here.

Maddy and Ajs puppies were born safe and sound yesterday – we couldn’t be happier with how it went and everyone is already putting on weight and thriving.
Our kids have already given them fun names for while they are here in our home so you can see those below. More pictures of the beagle babies to come of course. xox
Boy 3 (aka pebble)
Boy 2 (aka Rueben)
Boy 1 (aka Nemo)
Boy 5 (aka Gabriel)
Girl (aka Lulu)
Boy 4 (aka River)
Maddy’s temp dropped on Monday evening so we knew it was just a matter of time before her babies would be making an appearance. She was calm and sleepy and certainly made the most of her final days of beauty sleep.
The morning of her labor, I had gotten up several times to check on her in the night. While she didn’t want me to leave her alone, she also wasn’t ready for birth so I went back to bed.
In the morning, she decided the couch was where she wanted to have her babies. We had other ideas of course. Around 7am her water sack appeared and she promptly popped it. So, Brianna took her on a few walks around the yard and we waited for the signs of the first baby to appear.
At 8:50am our first baby was born – uneventfully. 🙂 A big bonny boy. 10.1 oz with a full white face and big wide blaze. i was officially in love and excited to see the litter if this was any indication.
Baby #2 came at 10:15. Another boy. 9.7oz – this one with a little J shape on his neck.
Boy #3 came at 10:47. He was 9.6oz and had a little spot in the middle of his neck.
Boy #4 arrived with a lot of noise. He was born feet first and at a whopping 11.7oz with loads of white.
Our next puppy was a GIRL – we had almost resigned ourselves to a full litter of boys so she was a fun surprise. A petite 9.5oz
And our final baby was a final baby boy – 11.6oz (again feet first).
Then Maddy went into rest mode. I thought there might be another one to come, so I made sure with an xray at the vet, but it showed we were all done. so we brought her home to enjoy her babies.
Boy oh boy, Maddy and AJ did good <3
Maddy had her X-Ray today. Its not super clear, but we are pretty sure that there are at least 6 in there.
So now we are going to cover her in prayers for a safe delivery of all the babies on their birth day.
Beagles babies are the cutest – I cant wait for them to be here soon.
We have wonderful news – today we confirmed that Madison is indeed pregnant via ultrasound and so at the end of September we are expecting a litter of puppies to arrive. We wont know exactly how many until we do an x-ray closer to her due date.
This is a lovely line breeding and we have high hopes for what we could get from it. We were very lucky to get a breeding in days before he left for his debut in Canada.
AJ is Canadian BIS Am GCH FoxTail’s Race To The Finish
Our little Vixen is a constant source of fun and entertainment and her latest joy is to spend her days on our Stand Up Paddle Boards with us. She LOVES the water and has even discovered swimming in the shallows of our lake. I have never had a water beagle before so this is all new territory for me. 🙂 She is such a delight indeed.
The beagles decided that the cavaliers couldn’t have all the fun this weekend and so in 13s Vixen got reserve to a major 2/3 days and a 3 poit major the other day for her first CH points.
Emmy, in 15s, went reserve 2/3 of the days and then won the other day for her first 2 points towards her CH title. And mama Maddy garnered another 5 points (including a 3 point major) toward her grand CH title. She is just 3 points shy away with very limited showing.
Way to go girls 🙂
B and Sirius debut’ed this weekend as a Jr Handler.
She walked and worked with him with confidence and it looked like they had been a team for months not weeks. to say we were so proud of them was an understatement. I think these two have a bright future ahead of them.
Sirius got his first points from the “Bred By” class at the Puyallup Kennel Club under judge Dee Hyde.
Momma Arrow got Reserve in a very competitive bitch class and so we have much to be proud of with our black n tan kids this weekend.
Well done Arrow and Sirius!
B and I took Sirius to Ocean shores on our “girls weekend” away so she could practice her moves for her first junior handling events at the COPS (Cavaliers of Puget Sound) dog show. They actually make a wonderful team and I cant wait to see them in the ring next week.,
