The beagle pups are 3 weeks old

Our beagle puppies are 3 weeks old. We started them on some solid food this week and they LOVED it. While they are still enjoying the ‘well fed” life of mostly eating and sleeping, they are happy to sausage their way to the little bowls and eat a little ground beef mixed with some goats milk 🙂

This week we also gave them a potty box and I am pleased to say that they are starting to use it. Mama Allie is now enjoying nights off by herself and the babies are one step closer to a little independence.

I love my daily cuddles with them – they are so incredibly sweet.

Enjoy the latest pictures of them. They had just eaten and were ready for a nap. 🙂

*please note that none of these pups are available at this time*

Nick gets his 2nd BIS

West Virginia today, Nick (BIS GCHB All I Want For Christmas) went BOV and Hound Group 1 under judge Mr Raymond V. Filburn Jr.

He then went on to his second Best In Show under judge Ms Joanne Buehler!!! Woot woot!! Judge Buhler not only finished Nick but also gave him his first group placement. what an honor to now receive a Best under her.

Nick seems to be making all my Christmas wishes come true – and more!

Thank you Mike and Karen for continuing to present him so well and to the judges for finding him worthy. Congratulations to the other winners! I know he had great competition out there!

Nick gets two Group placements his first weekend as a special

I am truly floating on cloud 9 after this weekend. It is the kind of weekend breeders dream of. I loved Nick as a puppy and had some high hopes for him but to see it come true is something else.

There is more to being a group placer than just being “pretty”. They have to be able to stay confident amongst all the other breeds of dogs and not feel intimidated. They need to be able to sit around for hours in their crate waiting for their ring time, and then be “on” when it’s their turn. They need to be okay with all the travel and change of venues as they go from show to show. Some dogs prefer to be homebodies, others thrive on the change. You don’t know if your dog is going to love showing until you start working with them. Nick LOVES it. You just have to watch the videos of him and you can see how much.

Here is how the Strawberry Classic weekend went for Nick (now CH Kazuri’s All I Want For Christmas).

Nick went Winners Dog and Best of Winners on Friday under Mrs Sulie Greendale-Paveza for a 4 point major to finish his CH title with 3 majors and 17 points.

We moved him up to the “Breed” as a champion on Saturday and for his first day as a “Special” he won the Breed (over several specials – one of whom is currently the #1 dog in the USA) under Ms. JoAnne Buehler. Mrs Buehler was also our Hound group judge and we won a Group 3 under her! WOW! There were some beautiful dogs in that ring!

On Sunday Nick won the breed again judge Mr. Raymond V. Filburn Jr. he then went on to win a Hound group 1 under Mr Filburn!! Oh my gosh!! To say I was blown away was an understatement!

I am so thankful to these judges who found that Nick was a quality dog in the lineup of such quality hounds. We have our first Grand CH points and our first points towards All breed and Breed ranking. Something I have never even thought of before. This is all new territory for me. <3 I am excited to see what this new adventure brings.

This link is the hound group where Nick got his group 3 (it was televised that day). He is on at 21:30 if you want to see him.

Emmy’s pups are 7 weeks

This is the first time attempting stacks with Emmy and Ben’s pups. Stacking is how we start to look their their structure – the angle of their shoulders, the length of their upper arm, the angle of their rear, their topline. The stack doesn’t tell us everything as some pups get nervous up here, but it’s a nice place to start.

I am SO pleased at how these pups have turned out. Using semen that was 22 years old was a gamble, and to get such beautiful pups to choose from, feels like a gift. <3

Thank you for your interest in my puppies and breeding program. At this stage I don’t know if any of these puppies will be available as I will start assessing them around week 7/8 to see who will stay in my breeding program, and I have a wait list already. I thank you for your patience and understanding. I do understand how hard it is to wait.

If you want to be considered for a puppy, please look on my “puppy page” for all the information you need about my breeding plans, FAQs, and a questionnaire to fill out. Thanks, Sarah

Kiss and Denny’s pups are 6 weeks today

The puppies are enjoying small times outside more and more. We don’t take them outside very much – not only because it’s still a bit cold, but also because it’s not super safe for them as we live on a lake with eagles – so we stand out there and supervise their playtime very closely.

Phoenix loves playtime with the babies so much – as you can see below, the feeling is mutual. She has just turned one, but she is very gentle with them. She has her mom Arrow’s beautiful temperament.

I did their individual pictures outdoors again this week. Enjoy <3

Maddy’s pups are 8 weeks & Vixen’s pups are 11 weeks

The puppies are growing about as quickly as the temperatures are dropping – fall in the PNW is certainly here. The puppies dont seem to notice though as they play in the yard and enjoy being outside each day.

My poor plants are squashed and flattened by all the games of catch and tag that happen over them, but I cant even be mad with how cute they all are.

I cant help but think this is the final time Maddy’s 5 will be together before Bepper (now Ella), Api (now Bradley) and Gelly (now Poppy) will be going to their new homes.

The homes that Cottonz and Wistor had lined up, have fallen through.

However, I am looking for guardian homes for them. This means that the couple or family will co-own with me and allow me to show the dog to CH title (at my expense) and one day she will have a litter of puppies before being spayed. They are not available as just pets. If you think you are interested in meeting me and talking about this kind of partnership/relationship, please feel free to email me.

Vixen and Payton’s puppies are six weeks old

Vixen’s puppies are 6 weeks. I can not believe they are already this age – although when I look at all the things they can do, it makes sense. They love their tunnel and their mini slide and teeter totter. We took them away to Seaside this weekend and because of traffic the drive took 4 hours instead of 2.5 – they didnt make a peep in the car – I suspect they will make great travelers. 🙂

I took them to my photography studio today so I could do photos. They walked out of the crate as if they owned the place. I love their confidence. <3 It’s hard to think I might only have a few weeks or a month left with them.

Enjoy the latest pictures of them. I do enjoy taking them (even if they are super wiggly).

Madison and Walter’s puppies are 3 weeks old today

Maddy’s pups are 3 weeks today. They are big healthy chunky monkeys. They had their first taste of puppy mush today and they LOVED it – I will post pictures of that later. 🙂

They got a litterbox today also – they will start to learn how to use it over the coming weeks just as our previous litters have.

Penny and Flame’s Puppy’s Visit

Penny and Flame’s puppies came to visit me in the studio for some final pictures before they go to their new homes. A couple of them have already left, so really it’s just the puppies who are left. <3

They are just the sweetest bunch – we are so thrilled how they have turned out – pretty, healthy and with great temperaments.

We welcome new beagle puppies – Vixen is a mom

In the early hours of Monday the 29th, after a very long day and night of labor, Vixen started giving birth.

Vixen is an amazing mom. After she was done, she got straight to loving on them, cleaning them and nursing. Her instincts are so strong.

Puppy #1 was a little girl – 8.2 oz at 7:34am. She took a long time to be born and caused a bit of pain as her placenta wouldn’t come away and so I had to intervene and cut her free. I am thankful she is alive and thriving.

Puppy #2 was a little boy – 8.3oz at 8:01am. He was born quickly and without any trouble at all.

Baby #3 was another girl – a 9.1 oz tri who unfortunately got stuck at the head/shoulders. It took me and my son 20 mins to gently and firmly pull her free without hurting Vixen, but by the time she was out, she had suffocated. It was very upsetting and a deeply felt loss. This was around 9:10

We decided at this point that 2/3 puppies had gotten stuck, and I didnt want to take another chance. We put Vix and the pups in the car and headed to the vet for a C-section. Thank you to Dr Donna Sowder at Animal Hospital at Murphy’s Corner for being available to us!

While en route, another baby was born in the car – my son (14) whelped her for me. What a champ! 8.1 oz at 9:39am.

When we arrived at the vet, they decided we should try to have the other 2 naturally, and if we needed to have surgery, they would do that immediately. Vixen was given a shot of Oxy and we waited in the “quiet room”.

At 10:04 another little girl arrived. 8.5oz. Uneventful and easy birth. We were on the right track.

The final puppy born was another boy – he was 8.6oz and born at 11.10am. He took a bit of time as he was big, but didnt get stuck (thankfully).

After a quick x-ray to make sure that we were indeed finished, we headed home. Vixen settled in and she was happy.

These puppies are all spoken for. <3
