Vixen – “feeling A Little Foxy”

Miss Vixen was born on Christmas Eve. She was born down at my co-breeders home in Sacramento CA as we were on sabbatical in New Zealand for 7 weeks, and knew we wouldn’t be in town to whelp and raise the litter. This is the reason she bears the initial Affix “Hailstorms” as well as “Kazuri”. 🙂

Her nicknames are “Vickle Pickle”, “Pickle dust”, “Pickle juice”, “Pixie” and “Dobby”. We always laugh that when she puts her ears back she looks just like Dobby the house elf. See if you can see it in the photos 🙂

She is a fun loving little beagle – I say little as she is about 12.5inches tall. She is our fence jumper, although she cracks us up by pretending every day that she can’t jump on the couch. We joke that she likes to be a baby when she is inside and a “big girl” outside.

She is our best swimmer and avid boater – she loves to be out on the lake and jumps from Paddle Boat to Paddle Board. She has even been known to dive off one and swim to another to get to the boat or board she wants. Lake life sure does look good on her.

I took photos of her today. She is 9 weeks post whelp, but she is looking pretty good. I didnt have time to groom her, so she is hairy, but you get the idea. We are about to do a home remodel and so she is going to have a little vacation back with Mike and Karen in California, so I wanted to take some pictures before she left. <3 Love my little Dobby Pickle.

Mia’s babies turn 7 weeks

It’s been a while since I have posted about Mia’s litter – mainly because they are not being raised with me, and so I dont get to see much of them since they are in California. But today I got to see some stacked pictures of them – they are so beautiful. <3 Riker and Mia did so well. They are 7 weeks old and looking wonderful. We are making our final selections about them. You can see Mike and Karen dont give them blog names – just descriptions 🙂 HA!

Madison & Vixen’s beagle pups are 7 weeks and love playing outside

The beagle puppies are growing up and I am enjoying the final time I have with them. Their personalities are coming out and it’s fun to see who is first to try something new and who waits to watch others.

They play in the yard daily and today and I went out in with my camera and took some pictures. These are the colors of collars they have on, so in the photos you know who is who: (Maddy x Buddy) – Gordon – Yellow, Ming – Silver, Bobby – Black, Mario – Cream, Carla – Purple, Julia – Pink. (Vixen x BJ) Elon – Light Blue, Doug – Navy Blue, Bob – Green, Katherine – Red, Dorothy – Orange.

Enjoy the fun – and the wrestling <3

Thank you for your interest in my breeding program. I am just starting to make offers for the puppies as I have decided which pups might stay in my breeding program.

Please note for any new enquiries, that I have approximately a 12 month + wait time for puppies at this time.

Sweet sleepy beagle pups

As i mentioned in my last post, when the beagle puppies were at my studio, they fell asleep so I made the most of it by taking some cute pictures of them together. Then, Mr Ming was sleeping on a pillow, so I snapped a couple of extras of him. <3

Enjoy

Thank you for your interest in my breeding program. I wont be making offers to any families till closer to 7-8 weeks when I can assess their structure and temperament, and decide which will be staying in my breeding program. I am just not quite ready yet – thank you for your patience.

Madison & Vixen’s beagle puppies turn 6 weeks

The beagle puppies are getting bolder and starting to really love the routines. They understand where the food bowls are (naturally) and how to navigate the little stairs out to the yard they play in. It’s amazing how quickly they are growing and exploring their world.

I still haven’t made my decisions about who is staying and going. I appreciate all the people who are waiting and how hard it is for you and i want to thank you for your patience. My breeding program takes hundreds of hours of preparation, commitment and thousands of dollars, and so i agonize over making the right decision so I don’t place the best puppy into a family where they will get neutered or spayed. I try to keep the best in every litter, so my breeding program is built on the built – temperament, structure and health wise. So, again I thank you for your patience.

Here are the photos of this week. I took them to my studio this week for my typical “blue chair” photos. I usually let them play for a while first so they aren’t so wiggly, but by the time I started, they were so worn out nearly everyone was asleep. HA! It worked too well. So some of them are barely awake in the photos.

Mia and Riker’s puppies arrive

We are so thrilled to announce, after 3 missed attempts at trying to get her pregnant, that Miss Mia had 4 healthy puppies this morning. It seemed all she needed was a young boy in person 🙂 LOL.

**Please note that these puppies are being raised with my very wonderful and super capable co-breeders Mike and Karen down in Sacramento. I am grateful as doing 3 litters and 15 puppies would be a little much. 🙂 We truly didnt think all 3 litters would take. But I am so grateful all the same.

Congratulations Riker on your first puppies. <3

Here they are:

Boy 1: 11oz

Boy 2: 11.3oz

Girl 1: 8.7oz

Girl 2: 11.6oz

Newborn Beagle Puppies

I always like to take pictures of my pups when they are 1 day old (and then every week if i can to document their growth). With Maddy and Vixen both out taking a dinner and potty break, I stole the opportunity to take quick photos of them in the whelping box – nothing fancy – just threw a white blanket over a dog bed and snapped some pictures. 🙂

Vixen’s pups are just a few hours old which is why they look a little skinny/dehydrated – I promise that Vixen is taking wonderful care of them and they have been nursing on and off since she got home from the vet. I expect her milk to come in quickly. Please also dont be concerned about the red on two of Vixen’s boy’s head’s – we marked the two that were most fluid filled after birth so we could keep an extra eye on them – so it’s nail polish, not blood you are seeing.

Enjoy these pictures of the babies. I am still coming up with the litter themes so they will get their blog names at 1 week i think. 🙂

Madison x Buddy’s puppies arrive

After much consultation with my reproductive vet, Dr Cynthia Smith (from the Pet Doctor), we decided that if Madison hadn’t given birth by the 27th, we would take them via planned c-section as Vixen was due in the days after and she must have a c-section due to several getting stuck last time. I didnt want Madison to be whelping at the same time Vixen was needed in surgery.

The surgery went without a hitch and though Maddy is a little confused and sore, she loves her babies and is doing really well taking care of them.

So, without further ado, introducing the six newest Kazuri babies.

Boy 2 – 12.49oz

Ben and Emmy’s pups leave the nest to their new homes

Ben and Emmy’s pups were 10 weeks and ready to go to their new homes. Since they had been raised with my co breeders Mike and Karen in Sacramento California, where Emmy lives with them full time, I had to bring some of the puppies back to Washington so they could settle in their forever homes. I drove all the way south and collected 4 of them to bring back to WA so they could go to their forever homes. It was a very long day, but we made it.

It was rainy and wet so i didnt get to take a photo of all 4 of them, but the rain gave us a little break, so I went out for a little photoshoot with the two that were left while they ran around the yard. Miss Lilikoi and Mr Boy 1, who will be going to a fellow breeder in the USA (announcement will come later once she has made it) are so cute 🙂

We are raising up the other two boys to potentially show them ourselves. Honestly, I was thrilled with this whole litter – sometimes the genetics just clicks. Thankfully this was one of these times.

Thank you for your interest in my puppies and breeding program. These beagle puppies are all sold. I do have a waitlist for my next beagle litters already.

If you want to be considered for a puppy, please look on my “puppy page” for all the information you need about my breeding plans, FAQs, and a questionnaire to fill out. Thanks, Sarah

Emmy’s pups are 7 weeks

This is the first time attempting stacks with Emmy and Ben’s pups. Stacking is how we start to look their their structure – the angle of their shoulders, the length of their upper arm, the angle of their rear, their topline. The stack doesn’t tell us everything as some pups get nervous up here, but it’s a nice place to start.

I am SO pleased at how these pups have turned out. Using semen that was 22 years old was a gamble, and to get such beautiful pups to choose from, feels like a gift. <3

Thank you for your interest in my puppies and breeding program. At this stage I don’t know if any of these puppies will be available as I will start assessing them around week 7/8 to see who will stay in my breeding program, and I have a wait list already. I thank you for your patience and understanding. I do understand how hard it is to wait.
