I got Covid-19 this week – thankfully I am vaccinated and so my symptoms have been fairly mild – mostly I have been exhausted and so I have been just in “get the basics done” mode. And so, taking photos got put on the back burner until I felt up to doing it.
The babies are growing like beautiful little weeds – they are stronger and playing together. They are running and wrestling and growling and have definitely found their sweet little voices barking with delight when I bring their meals. They LOVE food 🙂 It’s good. They are eating 3 meals a day now and only nursing a few times a day – Charlotte is enjoying becoming more of a playmate than a mommy.
Enjoy their latest photos.

We had a 1 cavalier litter and 3 beagle litters this year. I am so thankful to the breeders that let us use their stud dogs and allow their breeding programs be part of mine. I am so excited to see what the future might hold for our youngsters.
We also made many families very happy by placing our non keepers in loving homes expanding the “Kazuri” family. We are so happy to welcome each and every one of you and thank you for caring and loving our dogs so well. We are so grateful. <3
I wanted to say that we can’t do any of this alone – I am thankful to my village (I am so sorry if I forget to mention anyone specifically). I am so thankful to my co-owners/breeders in beagles Mike and Karen Kurtzner, and to my co-owners in cavaliers Susan and Alisha Lockleer. I am so thankful to Mike and Karen for handling Nick so beautifully plus many of my beagles to CH titles, but also to Tammie Wilcox, Jennifer Bell, Serena Soares, Sarah Yates and Cheyenne Calvert for the role you played in showing, transporting and finishing dogs for me. And thank you to new beagle breeding partner Chelsea Metteer – it was so fun to have a litter with you.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone here at Kazuri.

To say I am thrilled is an understatement. Being a breeder is hard work – it comes with ups and downs – from the highs of awards and placements and beautiful litters, to the devastating blows of a missed litter or a puppy passing away after nights staying up around the clock trying to save it’s life. I wouldn’t trade it – it just comes with the territory.
So – when I get a litter that thrives from day 1, I thank God in Heaven. I don’t take it lightly.
Charlotte is a wonderful mother and keeps her babies clean and very well fed. We hardly hear a peep from them. I can’t be more thankful than that.
So – this weeks litter comes with a smile on my face that these little babies are right on track to where they should be. Their eyes have just opened so I know movement is just around the corner.
I decided to name them Christmas names – because why not – it is the most wonderful time of the year afterall. My favorite time of the year in fact. <3
Girl – now Holly (since her mother was originally Mistletoe)
Boy 1 – now Cole (after the late Great Nat King Cole)
Boy 2 – now Leon (an anagram of Noel)
Thank you for your interest in my puppies – at this stage, because of my waitlist, there will not be any puppies available for new enquiries. thank you for understanding.
It is crazy to think we are already at 1 week, but here we are. The babies are thriving. The had a slow start for a few hours and as soon as the anesthetic wore off they were string and vigorous. They only lost a tony bit of weight and then have gained well ever since.
Charlotte is a wonderful mother – surgery hasn’t really impacted her – she loves her babies very much and she take wonderful care of them.
So – without further ado – here they are:

Vixen’s pups are growing like weeds – fat little sausages might be a better description. They spend most of the day sleeping. Over the last few days they have started to try and play together, but i think their favorite thing is to sleep in a puddle pile together.
I love this stage. 🙂 They are so cuddly and sweet.
This week we are going to introduce solids and the potty box – wish us luck 🙂 Just kidding – i have found it to be wonderfully successful.
Enjoy the 3-week photos of the babies.

I am thrilled to announce the safe arrival of Charlotte’s puppies to Christopher (CH Lockestar Hundred Acre Wood).
Since she had such a long drawn out labor last time, we decided to do a scheduled c-section. The days leading up to her birth were spent at the vets office doing reverse progesterone, determining whether it was the right day or not. I appreciate Dr Thoreson from Klahaya Animal Hospital so much – for his care and caution keeping my girls and puppies so safe.
Surgery went smoothly. We got 3 healthy babies – 2 boys and a girl. All blenheims. They were a little sleepy at first from the anesthetic, but we got them nursing a little before we left the clinic.
Anytime there is a break in the rain, and it isn’t too cold, we pop the pups outside for a little playtime. The pack loves playing with them too – our son’s 6 month old Golden Shirley is in love with the babies and loves to wrestle with them. For the most part she is very gentle but we stay very close by, just in case.
Grandma Madison and Momma Rosie love to get in the action too. 🙂 Both are wonderful matriachs and teachers of fun and healthy boundaries.
I hope you enjoy these photos of the babies in our gardens tonight – by the time I had finished taking photos, it was getting a little dark (thanks Winter 🙂 ), but you still get the idea.
It is fall here in the PNW and it has been a cold and wet one. This has meant that the babies have not really had much of an opportunity to get outside.
However, we got a break in the rain and the temperature was over 50 so i took them out to the garden. They walked out into the garden like they had been out there 100 times – i can’t believe their confidence!
Their little personalities are starting to emerge. The little girl is just that – little. She is tiny but with a huge personality. None of her big brothers can push her around.
I am just in love with them all. And so grateful for the opportunity to love them and enjoy them.
Please remember that no pet pups are available at this time as we are going to take our time assessing this litter very carefully and may end up growing several up. Thank you for your understanding.
“Make my wish come true, All I want for Christmas is you” ~ Mariah Carey.
Nick has exceeded my every wish this year and more.
The statistics came out today and Nick is currently the #1 15 inch beagle in both All Breed and Breed points!! WOW!!
Nick is a multiple Best in show winner and a multiple Specialty Winner. He has has won 20 groups and 64 group placements since mid February. Before that he was a class dog – we hadn’t shown him due to COVID.
His first group placement was his first day as a special This little dog never disappoints us. He temperament is happy and confident.
He has passed all of his health tests. As a breeders and owners myself (Sarah Sweetman) and Mike and Karen Kurtzner couldn’t be more proud.
