Gordon gets his first points in Starkville MS

COVID-19 has really cancelled all our showing plans here on the West coast. I have a bunch of youngsters I want to get into the ring in 2021 so I decided I need to get creative about how and where to show.

I have a friend who breeds beagles in Louisiana called Jennifer Bell – her kennel is Fleur de Lis Beagles. She is also a professional handler. Knowing she has a few girls to show right now, I asked her if she would be interested in showing one or two of my boys this year. She said yes and told me about a couple of shows she thought might work. A mutual Serena, friend was flying across to one of the first shows in Starkville Mississippi – it seemed like everything fell into place for Gordon to get his first ring experience.

A huge learning curve for this young boy who had his first solo flight across the country and stayed with new people. His first experience in the ring and with a judge and all the things that go along with that. Not a bad thing at all.

On Saturday, under judge Mr. Dana Cline, Gordon went Winners Dog and then Best of Opposite beating 2 champions to get a 3 point major from the 6-9 month old class.

Then on Sunday, under judge Mr. Jerry M Watson, Gordon went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a 5 point major from the 6-9 month old class!

I couldn’t be more proud of this sweet young boy who in his first weekend out has 8 of his 15 points. I had hoped to show him from the “Bred By” class, but have let that go knowing that I need to keep what is most important in mind, and that is chasing dog shows, wherever I may find them.

I am beyond grateful to Jennifer for showing him and Serena for taking him to and from. Of course I am thankful also to the two judges also for recognizing my boy both days.

Echo wins another major at Ridgefield

Echo surprised us by winning another major on Saturday, at the Ridgefield dog shows this weekend. She won under judge Ms Mary Lynne Elliott and then was reserve to the major on the Sunday under judge Mr Dianne Kroll.

She now just needs 2 single points to finish her CH title. 🙂 I think we will give Miss Echo the rest of the year off and work on that in the new year.

Echo Wins two Majors at Boise ID

Echo (Kazuri’s Feeling The Siren’s Call) has had a wonderful weekend in Boise, at the Idaho Capital City Kennel Club.

She went reserve to the major on the Friday under judge Mr Dean A Laney.

On the Saturday she went Best of Winners and Best of Opposite over a Special and won her first major – a 4point major under Mr Gary L Anderson!

She made us proud the next day by garnering her second major under judge Mrs Anne Katona when she went Winners Bitch again on the Sunday.

Echo is the daughter of Peyton (CH Malarky In Good Company) X Vixen (CH Hailstorms Feeling A Little Foxy At Kazuri TKN).

She currently has 10/15 of her CH points with limited showing. I couldn’t be prouder.

Echo wins her first CH points

We usually start showing our puppies when they are 6 months so they can get some ring experience. We don’t have high hopes for the young ones to win, but we don’t want them to be afraid of being in the ring – in fact we want them to think it is a game and kind of fun to show.

Because of COVID-19, Miss Echo (Kazuri’s Feeling the Sirens Call), didn’t get to attend her first show until after she turned one. She attended the shows at Enumclaw and won Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite for her first point on the first day under judge Richard Lewis. She went reserve the other days.

This weekend, at Snake River Kennel Club in Filer Idaho, she won winners bitch and best of Opposite over a special on Saturday under judge Mr David Bolus and winners bitch on Sunday under judge Mrs Pamela B Peat.

We thank you these judges for recognizing our tiny pistol, and to the wonderful Tammie Wilcox for showing her when I couldn’t travel due to work commitments. We are on the board with our first 3 points. 🙂

We welcome Emmy’s Beagle Puppies

My co-breeder’s ( who live in Sacramento) and I are proud to announce that Emmy’s litter arrived safe and sound. This litter is particularly special as it was conceived with 22 year old frozen semen from a dog that passed away many years ago – Ben – BIS BISS Kahootz Chase Manhattan. I am amazed at how technology can help us preserve DNA these days. Ben is a very well known dog in the beagle world and I am proud to be able to bring this old pedigree back into my pedigree and all that Ben has to offer.

Baby 1 was a Girl – 7.4 oz
Baby 2 was another girl – 8.1oz
Baby #3 was a little boy – 7.7oz
Baby #4 was another boy – 8.2oz
Baby #5 was another girl – 8.8oz
Baby #6 was another boy – 10.3oz
We got a surprise 7th baby – a huge girl weighing an even 11oz

We had thought she was just having 6, so she surprised us with a bonus #7 🙂 4 girls and 3 boys 🙂 Nice job Ben and Emmy <3 Mom and babies are all doing well. Emmy is a wonderful mother and the report is that the puppies are all vigorous and strong. I am so thankful.

At this stage I have no idea if any of these puppies will be available – we are going to take our time with this litter since the bloodline is one we have waited so long for. Thank you for understanding.

Allie gets her 2nd major!

I am so proud that after a reserve win to a major, Miss Allie won her 2nd Major win under Hound specialist Mrs Azalea Alvarez at the Coeur d’Alene dog show this weekend. She was piloted by Emma Adams, a wonderful Jr Handler who will be showing her at some of the hound specialties over the Summer as she tries to qualify for Westminster this year. I am so proud of you both!

Beagle pups are 9 weeks ~ final post before we say goodbye

This will be the final post of all the pups together as we will say goodbye to most of the litter later this week as they will be off to their forever homes.

Its bittersweet….

One or two of the boys will stay with co-breeders Mike and Karen to grow up and see if they will become show dogs.  But everyone else will be loved companions.  We are thankful to each incredible family who is adopting these guys.  We know they are so lucky to be going home with you.

Beagle Puppies are 6 weeks

The babies are 6 weeks old.  I can hardly believe it.  🙂  It snowed here in Seattle – yes – you read that right – snowed in November!!  so, the puppies first days in the grass were with little bits of snow.

They loved playing out in the grass and leaves and exploring the yard with the big dogs – and boy did they take a big nap afterwards!   I can see this is going to be a new daily activity for everyone 🙂

Enjoy xo

Beagle babies ~ 5 weeks

Time is now racing by.  The babies have starting sleeping through the night by themselves without Maddy and Maddy is feeding them less and less.  I guess those needle sharp teeth are starting to really hurt (I should know – owch!).

Their development is coming along leaps and bounds and we are loving their personalities emerging.

enjoy the final studio photos of them
