Echo’s babies are 4 weeks and toddling around like little champs. Today we took them outside and they explored the puppy area. They did very well and I know they will just keep getting more and more confident outside in the coming weeks. Enjoy the photos of them from this morning.
What a great Hound Show with the Western Washington Hound Show this weekend. We were thrilled that Mike and Karen and Nick snuck across from TN to attend these shows. We finished 2 dogs and got group placements in a beautiful line up. Fantastic.
Here is how the weekend went –
On Saturday Audrey (Rosehounds Brown Eyed Girl at Kazuri) bred by Bonnie & William Farrell and owned by Bonnie and myself, went WB for a major towards her CH. She just needed 1 more to finish. On Sunday, she did just that and finished 🙂
On Saturday Murphy (Kazuri’s Everything’s Gonna Be Alright) bred by myself, Mike & Karen Kurtzner and owned by Sarah Smith-Falkner andmyself, went WD/BOW for a major towards his CH. He just needed 1 more to finish. On Sunday, he did just that and finished as well 🙂
And to top off a wonderful weekend, Nick (MBIS MBISS GCHP Kazuri’s All I Want For Christmas CGC TKN ATT) won BOV and then Hound Group 2 both days.
Thank you to judges Mrs Marylyn Pipes and Mrs Lori Nelson for the placements on Saturday and to Mrs Lori Nelson and Mr Hal T Beirmann for the placement on Sunday.
My family is visiting from NZ and one of my brothers has a 1 year old and a 3 year old. The 3 year old is obsessed with holding the beagle puppies – she is super gentle and always supervised. I am thrilled with how many positive experiences they are having with toddlers.
Echo is continuing to do a wonderful job with her little ones. They have tasted and love food and so that’s a new achievement unlocked. I will post some pictures of that soon.
I did their photos on the blue chair today as they are starting to move about and I think by next week they will want to explore and move around too much 🙂
Echo is keeping her little ones very satisfied and so they don’t really want to move around a whole lot yet. Their eyes have tiny peeps so we should have eyes open by the end of the week.
I am loving their bone and their lovely heads – its a very consistent looking litter and I can’t wait to see how they keep developing once they are up on their feet.
If I’m honest, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude with the honor of standing beside such incredible breeders and exhibitors and humbled that I had a part to play in several of the awards given out for 2022.
The National Beagle Club announced that Nick is the official 15 inch beagle of the year for 2022. I am beyond grateful to co-breeders and co-owners Mike and Karen who have made Nick the superstar he is as they take him to all the shows across the US
It was a 3 way tie for “Stud dog of the year” – each with 7 CH progeny- Nick (MBIS MBISS GCHP Kazuri’s All I Want For Christmas CGC TKN ATT), Spencer (BISS CH Ha’Pennys Too Much Trouble) and Alvin (BISS GCHS Tallie Farms Mysteries and Mayhem) – I am so thrilled for breeders and owners of Nick – myself, Mike Karen and of course Penny Petrille who is Spencers breeder., to Dan & Terri Carter (Spencers owners when he was alive) and Susan Kustrup (Alvin’s breeder and owner) – congratulations to each of these deserving dogs.
As if that wasn’t enough, the girl Chelsea Metteer and I imported from Australia and bred her together, Puddin (Aus CH Karakush Proof Is InTh Puddin) won Dam of the year with 7 CHs from one litter (Her litter with SPencer). Huge thank you and congratulations to her breeders Leigh and Helen Gibson.
The thing I marvel about is none of this was done alone. I have strived to build community with my life in dogs and the fact that all of these wins were with my friends is such a bonus. I am so grateful for all the work and effort of those who went before me to set me up for such success. So thank you to my co-owners, co-breeders and everyone cheering us on.
I say it all the time, but we are better together. At least I know I am.
Echo is a super mother and has full cream milk – all of the puppies have already doubled their birthweight. She keeps them clean and warm and they are content.
I can’t wait for their eyes to start opening in the next week or so.
Echo welcomed 4 healthy babies via planned C-Section today – her labor didnt progress last time and so with bigger babies on board we thought that it would be smart to just make the decision before it became an emergency. She came through surgery well and was already licking her babies while waking up. She is an excellent mother. I am grateful.
Just like last time – she had 3 boys and a girl. so I will introduce them below
Girl – 10.0oz
Boy 1 – 12.05oz
Boy 2 – 10.10oz
Boy 3 – 11.75oz
Back home they are all settled and happy. I am so thankful
I was so proud of puppy Callie, 10 months old, and new ch. We played as a special in Puyallup this week and she got 3 BOV and 2 Owner Handler Group 4s. Shown by me 🙂
