I was scheduled to go to the Spokane/CDL show, and so I asked a good friend of mine Jamie to whelp Mishka’s litter. She does such a good job and I am grateful to her for being my back up. You can see Mish is totally comfortable with Jamie and her home.
Mishka went into labor in the morning and then had her first baby in the late morning. We got a boy – 9.9oz
Second baby took it’s time – once seen, it was obvious why. A large well marked girl – 12.24oz
Puppy three was another girl – a bi color and weighed in at 11.21oz – still a very good sized pup
Our last puppy arrived around 4pm and was a 3rd girl (yeah) 10.76oz
Mom and babies all are thriving and well. I am so so thankful for these gorgeous beagle puppies to raise and enjoy.
Our sweet cavalier boys are 7 weeks old and we have had the nicest weather. As such, it has given them so much opportunity to play outside and interact (always supervised) with our other dogs. I love how gentle our beagles, cavaliers and golden are with the tiny babies, and how brave the little ones are trying to keep up with the older dogs.
The PNW is so pretty in the Spring with all the blossoms falling and the vibrant colors everywhere.
The cavalier puppies are now confident enough on their feet that I felt like they could have an adventure to explore outside (supervised of course) in the warm sun. It was about 65 degrees this morning and so they spent about 20 mins exploring
The cavalier king charles babies are thriving and we are starting to see some personalities emerge as they are starting to explore their baby pen. They are beginning to make little growls and trills – I love this stage.
Phoenix’s babies are just thriving. My daughter Brianna looked after them while I dashed to NZ to celebrate my Nana’s 90th birthday celebration. She did an amazing job. I am so thankful for her.
They have their eyes open now and are starting to get up on their feet.
I am so so proud of Shelby – *pending AKC* – she is no longer the Queen of Reserve and won Winners B today for her final major to finish.
I am so so proud of this sweet and pretty little girl who is owned by Pat & Harmoni Plana in Louisiana. They have done a beautiful job training and conditioning her, and took her almost to the finish line, and we are so thankful to Carlos for getting that final major. It sometimes takes a village when a weekend doesnt work for you to show yourself. <3 Congratulations team!
I am not sure where to even start, but I am so proud of my Kazuri kids, both owned by us and other people. I was attending my Nana’s 90th birthday in New Zealand (where I am from). So, i was jealous at all my friends having a fabulous time without me, and also how proud I was of my dogs.
First up, I have to say I am so so proud of my 20 month old 13 inch boy MURPHY. He won Best In Specialty (BISS) at the first beagle specialty under Dr Andrea Bradford.
Savannah (Kazuri’s Gonna Be Peachy) took 13 inch winners bitch all three All Breed shows at Chintimini and proved she is a quick learner being at her first dog show. She loved and co-owned between Malia Throop and Sarah Sweetman
Claire, Roylcrest’s Anything You Want, You Got It, ( daughter of Kazuri boy Ch Kazuri’s To Sir With Love) in 13” Beagles, won WB for a major, Best Bred by Exhibitor 13”, BOS and Best Bred by in Specialty under Dr Andrea Bradford. At the second specialty under judge Mrs Wendy Boce she won 13 inch Winners Bitch and Best Bred by Exhibitor 13 inch Beagles. Kazuri is thrilled for Lorna and Sam from Roylcrest beagles and this super little girl.
Maxim, GCH CH Kazuri’s Rockin’ The Naughty List at Roylcrest bred by Kazuri and co-owned by Lorna & Sam Boydston and Sarah Sweetman won 15” BOS under Dr Andrea Bradford
I am so so very proud of my Kazuri dogs and how well they did this weekend. <3
I’ve needed to take a moment to breathe and just feel so thankful to be able to attend the National Beagle Show in Mesquite Texas last week.
I am thankful for the friendship and comradery from the group of us that came together from Washington – to Dolly, Malia, Ruthie, Bonnie, to seeing friends I have known for years and others I got to meet for the first time finally after knowing them online (I wont list everyone as I am bound to forget someone). I say it all the time – I truly believe we are better together, and that community is better than competition. I try to live by those values.
I am thankful for the whole team under David and Ann to put on such a wonderful event
I am thankful for the opportunity to show my dogs and breeding program – Callie “CH Kazuri’s Everything’s Gonna Be Sugar N Spice” made the final cut in 13s with me on the leash.
Murphy with Karen, “CH Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” went BOS in 13s with Karen.
Nick with Mike (MBIS MBISS GCHP Kazuri’s All I Want For Christmas CGC TKN ATT) made the cut at the national but really shone being recognized as the #1 15 inch for 2022, Stud dog of the year for 2022 and amazing us by going People’s Choice at the National.
I am thankful to Leigh and Helen for entrusting us with Puddin and that she got “dam of the year” alongside sire Spencer. I loved celebrating with Terri & Dan and Chelsea – Spencer also won “sire of the year”.
Not to mention, sweet baby Savannah “Kazuri’s Gonna Be Peachy” who at 15 weeks with co-owner Malia, took every moment of the National in stride, travelling like a rockstar and kissing as many people as she could and utilizing any lap for a bed.
I am thankful to Mike and Karen for your wisdom and partnership – for taking my dogs to places they couldn’t have gone with just me.
I am thankful for those who brought my dogs to the National to show – Chelsea with the wonderful Tex “GCH Kazuri N Van-Mar Trouble In Texas” and his sister Penny “Kazuri N Van-Mar Trouble with Penny Lane” and Terri with Audrey “BISS GCH Kazuri N Van-Mar Trouble At Tiffany’s” and was so so proud to watch them exhibit so beautifully.
I am thankful for my friends and roommates Pat and Harmoni for sharing a room with me
I am thankful for the opportunity to touch and feel dogs, and talk to owners and be surrounded by so many beautiful beagles – some of whom i hope to incorporate into my lines.
I am sure I have missed things, and I am sorry if i did – I had a blast and can’t wait to see you all in 2024!!
The puppies are tiny dogs now and love nothing more than when they can play in the big yard with the big dogs. Right now the weather in the PNW is unpredictable and so we make the most of going outside every moment we can.
The cavaliers are growing confidence as the beagle puppies show them the ropes. Our golden is a perfect playmate as she is gentle and shows them big dogs are nothing to be afraid of. Even dogs that are visiting like Darwin the beagle, enjoy moments of play – even if they try to nurse from him.
I am enjoying every moment with these precious little ones. I have just under 2 weeks before the first of the beagles starts to fly the coup. Sigh.
The cavalier king charles and beagle pups love exploring and food. Their little personalities are starting to emerge and we are loving geting to know them.
please excuse the food on their faces – they had just enthusiastically eaten lunch and then had a little playtime – it’s real life when raising pups but we wanted to make the most of a short break in the rain and i didnt want to make them cold by giving them a full bath
