Pudding’s babies are all thriving and growing like little weeds. They are all opening their eyes and toddling around the whelping pen. I can’t wait for the coming days/weeks as their personalities start to emerge.
Enjoy the latest pictures of these precious little ones.

Thank you for all the interest in these pups. At this stage no pet pups are available from this litter.
We are totally smitten with these 8 little loves. Pudding is a wonderful and attentive mother. Her milk has been slow to come in and so I have been giving her a helping hand with feeding. While I am tired, I am grateful everyone is doing well and enjoying my extra cuddles when I give each one a feed 🙂
I decided, because they were born on the opening day of the Olympics 2020, that i would name them after some of my favorite athletes from both the past and present. Obviously I had thousands to choose from, but i chose a few that stood out for one reason or another.
So, without further ado, here are our Olympians 🙂
Girl 1 – now Faith. I named her after 1500m runner from Kenya, Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon who won in 2016 in Rio. I loved her determination, and her unending joy as she ran. This tiny girl (we often call her “mighty mouse”) struggled for a few days and we thought we might lose her. I prayed a lot, so Faith seemed fitting on many levels.
Boy 1 – now Todd, after Mark Todd from NZ. As a little girl i loved horses and rose whenever I could. In 1984 and 1988, with the beautiful Charisma, Mark won Gold in individual evening, and a bronze in the team event. For years, any bay horse I rode, I imagined was Charisma. So, Todd is a nod to their amazing success.
Girl 2 – now Bronte – after the Bronte Campbell from Australia. What I love the most about Bronte is the fact that she and her sister Cate both compete and swim together. The have attended several Olympics together and I just love to watch their comradery and friendship, as well as them being champions at their sport (swimming).
Girl 3 – now Suni – after Suni Lee. I love gymnastics – these men and women are the epitome of power under control. Watching Suni Lee win the all-around was so incredible this week – she stepped up to the plate when Simone could no longer compete and I thought that was marvelous.
Girl 4 – now Naomi – after Naomi Osaka. Naomi dominates in tennis – she is ranked No. 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association and is the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles. What a way to represent both Japan and Haiti which are the two nationalities of her birthright. I loved watching her be the final torch bearer at the opening ceremony – what an honor indeed.
Boy 2 – now Bolt – after Usain Bolt. I will admit that track and field is not my #1 favorite thing to watch at the Olympics. But I always turned in to watch Usain run. He made it look so effortless and was always SO proud of representing Jamaica (as he should be). What a remarkable career to get gold medals in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
Boy 3 – Jagger – after Jagger Eaton. For those who don’t know, skateboarding made a debut at the Olympics this year. I know because my son skates and we have enjoyed many hours watching the guys compete. While Jagger didn’t get gold (he got bronze), I will admit that I loved his name as much as anything else.
Girl 5 – now Tiina – after Ilse Kristiina Lillak was the 1984 Olympic silver medalist in javelin throwing, from Finland. She broke several world records over her career, and I just thought that was pretty incredible.
I hope you enjoyed the latest photos of them. Please note that these puppies are not available as pets at this time. Thank you for understanding.
With Pud’s babies being a day old, I decided to take a few nicer pictures with my proper camera. During a quick bathroom break for Puddin, I quickly took a few snapshots. These are def not my best work, but at least you can see them all. The babies are all doing well. Overnight they lost a little weight, but thats pretty common as mama’s milk comes in. I will support them and monitor them all carefully but I am pleased with how glossy they all are.
So, here they are: I still haven’t quite decided on a litter there so names undecided. 🙂 Bear with me. 🙂

Late night on the 21st, I noticed that Pud was panting a little bit. Her temperature hadn’t dropped and she had eaten a full dinner, but it still made me think that the beginning of labor was certainly close.
I woke up every hour and a half through the night to keep an eye on her. She didn’t get much sleep. Poor girl was rather large and between her giant belly, need to pee constantly and the panting, she was needing to sleep sitting up. Remembering labor myself, I understood completely.
The next morning, her temperature went down to 97.6 and I knew we were in business. She was definatly in stage one.
We left her in her whelping area, so she could pace or sleep or rearrange the bedding as she pleased without the bother of anyone around. Luckily we have cameras and so i was able to watch her all day and I checked on her every hour. We took her for regular gentle walks and potty breaks and gentle head rubs. She was happy and content.
The only thing I kind of objected to was Pud decided she really liked laboring under a toddler structure in the side yard – she made a little hole while no doubt felt lovely and cool to lay in, but it made me so nervous to have her out there.
Around midnight things intensified and her watersac appeared, and quickly she gave birth to a little baby GIRL. She was in love and we were grateful that baby #1 was here safe and sound. She was 7.23oz. I felt this was a very respectable size considering how many we were expecting.
Baby #2 was a BOY – he was 3oz bigger at 10.26oz. Ironically he was born outside (remember how I told you about her obsession with that toddler structure??). Thankfully I had brought towels and scissors out to our potty break as I had a weird hunch she might want to push a baby out there – he didn’t even touch the ground. But, not my favorite place to whelp. His size surprised me. Big boy for 8 babies. Would he be the largest – time would tell.
Baby #3 was another GIRL – 10.16oz. Lovely straightforward birth – just how we like them.
Baby #4 was another GIRL – 10.41oz. I was starting to think the Heavens were smiling on us as breeders. And, I was starting to see a pattern of dark bodies and giant babies as the norm 😛 HAHA.
Baby #5 was another GIRL – 11.04oz – she was also born outside and was a dry birth. I was prepared, just as I was last time, but a dry birth is hard on momma so I hoped I would not have to repeat that.
Baby #6 was a BOY – 10.37oz and a very easy straightforward birth. Grateful for those. Pud was starting to get tired so I reminded her we were nearly done – just two more baby girl.
Baby #7 was a BOY – 11.39oz. This was another dry birth and his shoulders got stuck for about 15 mins. I am very thankful to my husband Steve, who I dragged out of bed at 6:30am, to help me gently pull this baby out. He was very blue/purple and I thought we had lost him but after many minutes of vigorous rubbing he was squeaking and moving around. I shed many tears of adrenaline and thankfulness.
Baby #8 was a GIRL. Her birth story was almost identical to the boy before her – I will forever be grateful to Steve and his long fingers for being able to get up into the pelvic bone and inch those babies forward – my fingers just weren’t long enough to grab them.
So, mama and babies all settled in. Pud has the most giant nipples and so the babies are all learning how to nurse off them – it’s quite the learning curve. The smallest baby has needed a little support – I am thankful I have an incubator / oxygen on hand. She gets a little colder since she gets pushed around by her bigger brothers and sisters. I will tube fed her a little bit and keep a vigilant watch over her. I think she will be just fine.
So, officially, they were born on the 23rd, since we had the first one arrive around 12:30am on the 23rd July. 🙂
**please note that none of these puppies are available as pets at this time. US breeders may enquire but we may or may not have anything available.**
After a few days of taking it easy, our special boy Nick came back into the ring with great flair starting the Houston World Series of Dog Shows with a bang.
Today at the San Jacinto Beagle Club, Nick (MBIS MBISS GCHS Kazuri’s All I Want For Christmas) went Best Of Variety in the 15 inch beagles in a lovely lineup of beagles, and then went on to win Best in Specialty by beating the 13 inch Variety winner.
We are very thankful to judge Mrs Molly Martin for this great honor and for finding our happy little hound in the beautiful lineup today.
Congratulations to David and Ann Wolf on Ivy’s 13 inch BOV win today from the Veteran class and to all the other winners today.
Sired by the one-and-only “Spencer”, sire of the 2015 WKC Best in Show Winner and many other notable champions and producers, BISS CH Ha-Penny’s Too Much Trouble and out of our stunning Australian import, CH Karakush The Proof Is Inth Pudding “Puddin”.
This breeding was of paramount importance for many reasons, but mostly because Spencer has been gone for several years and has very limited breeding opportunities left. We are forever indebted to Terri and Dan for trusting and allowing us to use the 13 year-old frozen semen with Puddin. We can never repay you!
Secondly, our unending gratitude also goes to Le and Helen for without them there would never be Puddin. She is the sweetest, happiest beagle there was and gives us the opportunity to bring in lines to strengthen our programs tenfold.
My personal thanks and love goes to Chelsea who has been such a joy to do beagle partnership with – it has been hard to believe we only met in person a few short months ago – I feel like I have known you all my life. We are so aligned with how we feel about so many things and our goals – this process with you has been nothing short of easy – so thank you friend.
Last but not least, a big shout out to ICSB Nor Cal (Shannon and Sydney Stone) for their professional progesterone timing and TCI services (they are seriously on point!) and going above and beyond for this breeding, Willow Creek Veterinary Clinic for their amazing service and ultrasound machine.
Spencer x Puddin, due July 24th, 2021 with a confirmed 8 puppies aboard, we are thrilled to bits!!!

Thank you to the judges who found my “Covid baby” this weekend and congratulations to all the other winners. Thank you also to Tammie Wilcox for showing Sir this weekend. I always appreciate her so much. I had a crazy weekend with other commitments, so appreciated her support.
It was a wonderful day in Puyallup today. At the Cavaliers of Puget Sound specialty, Summer (Kazuri’s Sweet Summertime Kisses) won her class and then went on to winning reserve to the 5 point major.
I was very proud of her as it was literally her 2nd time stepping in the ring (her 1st time was this time last year at the COPS show).
She was a little shy at first but by the time we went into the winners circle she found her groove.
It was a fab specialty – thank you to everyone for their hard work (Susan Lockleer – I am looking at you) and to the judge Dr. Vandra Huber who stepped in at the last minute to judge for us (the judge who we were supposed to have had an emergency and went into hospital) and found my sweet girl.
I also showed Phoenix (Kazuri’s On The Wings Of Love TKN) in the competitive BBE class, and she didn’t place today, but I still love her Congratulations to all the winners today.
